Aaron Berson, CPA, is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Fringe Advisory Co. Aaron fills the roles of Controller, CFO, process designer, and system curator for his clients. His passion for accounting and technology solutions allows him to provide complete automated workflows for clients and our team. In addition, Aaron’s experience and in-depth knowledge of tax, financial statements, and GAAP enable him to assist clients with developing tax, financial, and growth strategies.

He has worked at three of the largest accounting firms in the world: Deloitte, EisnerAmper, and Gettry Marcus. During his time at EisnerAmper, he founded and led the Virtual Business Services Group (now called Cloud Accounting Services). Over the course of seven years, he has developed and perfected processes and workflows that aim to automate and streamline the accounting function of any business.

In 2017, 2018, and 2019, CPA Practice Advisor recognized Aaron as one of their “40 Under 40,” distinguishing him as a leader who is helping to positively shape the accounting and tax professions. Most recently, he was named one of the Top 50 Cloud Accountants in North America by HubDoc.

An educator at heart, Aaron enjoys helping others understand complex topics and how to better leverage technology. He facilitates client training and leads the firm’s thought leadership topics, including technology in accounting, cloud accounting, and succession planning. In his role as a New York University Adjunct Professor, he is able to help the next generation of accountants learn and apply the skills needed to remain relevant in the currently evolving accounting profession. Aaron also provides mentoring to several start-up entities in the New York City Area, in connection with New York University’s Stern School of Business.

A graduate of Binghamton University, Aaron holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSCCPA), where he is President of the Manhattan/Bronx Chapter and Committee Chair of the Emerging Technology Entrepreneurial Committee.

Recognized in the industry as a thought leader by several national associations and publications, he is often asked to speak and hold workshops at various seminars and conferences. He specializes in topics such as accounting technology and the future of the profession.
